Apologies for the overly dramatic headline, but that’s what I feel we’re trapped in these days. I’m simply stunned at our society’s rush to starve Terri, simply on the say so of her husband, whose motives could or could not be pure as the driven snow. As Rush often says, ‘follow the money’. Anyway, we’re now officially in a society that condones extermination of the inconvenient. If you can’t converse, you have no value. A fella around the office tried to tell me it wasn’t like somebody was putting down a sick animal, but essentially, yes that’s exactly what’s happening. People treat their pets better than Terri’s being treated.

Hey Mr. Fric, as our official unofficial moderator leader, something for you to look into. I posted a comment, and of course my HeathenBoy turned into a link. Well, it doesn’t link to a profile as I expected, it linked to a blog at http://strengthandhonor.typepad.com/. Its a guy in Iraq. Weird wild small online world man. Here’s a sample, and it is excellent stuff.

Two words I wish had never been put together to form a cliche’

Exit Strategy. Every time I hear some nitwit use this euphemism for retreat I get annoyed. Exercising or even looking for an “exit strategy” other than victory is leaving a job half done and it dooms tens of thousands more to horrible painful deaths. I suppose some people think this really is all just a big chess game. The striking things about this place, like most of the other third-world places that I have visited are the contrasts. There is garbage everywhere, children missing limbs, huge opulent palaces that used to be occupied by Saddam and his cronies, to name just a few. You can tell the ones that are “better off” immediately by the fact that their clothes are clean. This is going to be an interesting year. One thing is sure: This will take longer than one year before we can even think about “exiting.” It will take as long as it takes.

Now its quite an honor to be associated even in this tangential way with this great guy, but how in the world does my HeathenBoy get linked to this fella?

Blog Guide 2004, a 2 page chart of important blogs, is part of this week’s National Review. CM didn’t make the chart, but there’s always next year. Among those who did make the cut, Instapundit, Little Green Footballs, Michelle Malkin and Mark Steyn.

In addition, the role of bloggers in Rathergate is discussed, including in an article about the possibilities of additional “campaign finance” reform that is sure to surface in the wake of Swiftvets. If the MSM and lefties (and McCain) get their way, the day is soon coming when all we’ll get from the MSM is what a candidate wants us to hear. No private citizen or group will get any voice beyond a blog or website (and you can bet those will be under the scope next) in political campaigns.

Perhaps a bit off topic, but blogging has definitely arrived, and its fun to be a part of this world shaking little trend, even in this modest way.

I checked one of the links, Catholic RageMonkey. 2 things: 1, I didn’t get it. Please ‘splain to me Lucy. 2, they’ve got quite the list of links there. I hadn’t realized the Church community was so active on the web. Have the American bishops or the Vatican or anybody in authority put out any sort of word on all these blogs and sites? Is it a no no, or a cool thing, or just silence, or…? Just curious if there is an official position on the marvels of modern communication within the community of the faithful.
